Paul, Melanie and Max

I shot Max back in March when he was just a little guy. He had been sick and he wasn’t feeling very well. I didn’t have long to spend with him, and no matter what we did, we couldn’t get Max interested in cracking a smile. Which, honestly was sort of endearing. That serious baby face!

Baby Max

Max has grown up a little bit since March, and I’ve been planning to shoot him for several months when I found out I was going to be back down in Houston for a few days. Wouldn’t you know it, the day before the shoot, Max woke up with a fever, and I think He kept Paul and Melanie awake most of the night before we met to take some photos. I was really nervous we were going to have to scratch the whole thing.

But nope. Max is quite the trooper. He not only made it through the shoot, but he was one of the eaisest, most agreeable subjects I’ve ever had. I’m in love with these photos and I’m totally in love with Max.
